As part of this, a senior government college trainer was appointed because the TDC was then guided via the mentor trainer. The TDC initiative began in collaboration with a UK-based total NGO named STiR Education that developed a Learning Improvement Cycle (LIC) for 1024 authorities colleges in Delhi, which intrinsically motivated the teachers.
“We made the teachers realize the importance of augmenting their teaching techniques, and no longer to impeach it,” says Savitri Sachdeva, TDC, Government Girls Senior Secondary School (GGSSS), Palam Enclave. The revolutionary strategies have brought an attitudinal shift in instructors that in return has helped in bonding higher with students,” she says. Since 2017, 4 LICs have been added that focus on connecting with students, filling the gaps between teaching and mastering, making lessons engaging, and using examples from each day’s existence to educate.
Widening the horizons
Following the achievement in Delhi, STiR Education has tied up with the governments of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
“Our timetable is to reach a stage wherein the intrinsic motivation is embedded in the training gadget. We need teachers to be growth-driven, without a set mindset while teaching,” says Mark Butcher, strategic communications officer at STiR Education.
